Nice finds, how deep were they? It is encouraging that you got some bigger pieces as I am yet to break the gram barrier with mine.
I would be inclined to keep working that ground, raking might give up some more as an extra half inch closer to the ground seems to help ID subgram bits.
A fiskars scoop speeds up the extraction process for me, shaking the fine gold/shot to the bottom gives a clearer tone for quicker extraction, but I still tend to loose the small ones at times. Round gold or lead shot tends to fall through my fingers at times and has generated some explicit words at times.
