Had our first trip away with our detectors last weekend and was stoked to find my first piece at 0.29g however could not get my wife out of the creek to give it a decent go but that will change as it cools down (I hope)

Will take a bit of learning how to use it and got plenty of lead shot so guessing I am on the right track and should wander over more gold with time.

The addiction just got much worse.

even a little speck will be a nice reward and considered a success trying something new
That's from your introductory post here last October and now you've been and gone and done it! Good on you, mate and congratulations.

It's definitely a success and a very nice reward on your first detecting expedition. There'll be no stopping you now!

Cheers, quite a lot of exploring and trial and error so far and met some great people along the way plus spent a lot on upgrading from a tent to a fully kit out new off-road camper to enjoy our travels and have no excuses not to wander.

It has changed our life for the better and loving our time in the creeks and bush. Victoria in May for our detector training plus a few days exploring followed with Tibooburra for 2 weeks at the end of June for my 50th plus our regular trips closer to home each fortnight.

Attached photo of my stash so far from a lot of rock cleaning where our goal is to make a nice ring for my wife shortly.
