Hello and thank you for allowing me to join.

I live in Townsville and was going to head up to mareeba in a few weeks to camp for a day or two.
While the wife sips some wine I would like to go for a walk around with my new detector.
Any one know of some spots where we will be allowed to have a look around up there.
Private property's or public what ever we are allowed to do.

Thanks for the reply.
I am very new to this and don't even know where to start. I have been on Google looking for places to go but can not find anything. Is r
There someone I could or should call. Thanks

Welcome mate. A good place to start for allowable spots would be the net. Also drop into the detector shop in cairns they would surely have some maps and maybe even some advice.

Cheers Col :)

Gday Clea2782,
think youll have a tuff time there. Most detectorists seem to head down not up on their trips. Places like flat creek station and cloncurry are the most frequent.
Drop in and talk to George at the Nq Miners den on Anderson St, he may point you somewhere closer. Mention kingsborough to him as well, great spot to camp and you can have a scratch in the creek bed but probably not alot of detectoring to be done.

Enjoy your trip,
TGW.
