"Find patch" (Locate Patch) setting on the 7000.

If i want to use the "Find Patch" mode. What does this do? Does it speed up the timings, or does it basically put it into enhance mode? Does it lose any depth or sensitivity? Thanks.

I was told to always keep the Z in Patch mode Wiley, my old mate Kerry that sold me my Z said it's better when you're looking for gold in new areas.

It very basically helps to smooth out some ground noise allowing you to detect quicker - locate a patch.
It won't smooth out all ground noise, in particular ground or hot rocks that have a very positive signal.

I haven't got my 7000 in front of me, scroll through your screen settings should be there. But I think it may have come out in the second software update. Been awhile since I turned the 7000 on. I could have a better look if you are having trouble?

It's called Locate Patch on the GPZ

Switch on. scroll down to the bottom icons. scroll across 6 icons to ground smoothing and it's in the middle of that option. wiley

Thanks for that Nenad. Here's another question for you. Can I run it in locate patch, and, extra deep at the same time? Or, will these two settings cause the Z to lose depth, sensitivity, and make it unstable. etc? wiley

The whole point of patch finding is to cover a lot of ground in a limited time to find a shallow easy detected nugget..........Then use a deep setting.

I was hoping I could use both settings at the same time. That would eliminate the need to do the same ground twice. But, I am worried that 1 mode will cancel out the benefits of the other. Or, they will struggle with each other, therefore, losing depth, sensitivity, stability, etc.

Low and slow for deep small or larger targets and faster if anything shallow. Different settings and machine dynamics. The two are at odds with each other.

This above is equal to my first experiences on the 7000.

I have been on varying ground, so I toggle between Normal & Difficult depending on the ground. Also encountered a hot rock today which I was not expecting to find in the location I was at.
The speeds I can swing at are much faster than normal, with any target unmistakeable.

Every time you num the 7000 u lose sensitivity or depth so if, an I say "if" use normal ground, turn off soothing, turn up your sensitivity but you can only run the machine to the ground conditions and climatic conditions take the time to get the machine running smooth and quite then start pushing it it,you will find that seven takes at least half hour before it settle in to a grove emi, ground types etc stay away from phones solar panels other metal detectors I don't know what it is but 5000 are heard at least 1k away but I prospect in very open land and small stuff 90 % time I've just found a little honey hole and I do it with several machines in different settings an on different days so don't be frightened to push your machine and if you find a target ,try settings before digging and listen to the machine it all about confidence in machine and research

Thanks for that Flatlander. What's your take on mobile phones? Some say run it in aeroplane? mode, and some say it doesn't make any difference. I have mine turned on. Tried aeroplane mode and turned off, but, neither seemed to make much difference.
