Thanks, Meta, seems almost like fun and a lot different to old times using binary or octal coding.

But that took you half an hour, so how long would it take someone not at all familiar with the Wix concepts and presentation methods? I know, how long is a piece of string.

Also what does it cost to create and host such a web page?

Too bad I don't have something that needs a web site or I may be tempted and that would stop me getting out bush. I am trying to get away from all that techo stuff.

Rob.

Nice stuff Meta :D

The only thing that one would have to be careful about is the line between Hobby and profession as far as the Tax man is concerned, if I set up a page and started selling gold, wouldn't that then be classed as a business?

Its amazing what tools you have these days to make web pages. The last page I made was coded in html from scratch, I think I still have it on one of my home servers some where

Its all free using the Wix domain......I guess for a more professional touch you can supplement your own domain name (ie Australian Gold Sales.com.au) and costs for having your own domain is about $10 per year.

Good question.

I suppose the main idea would be just to sell your existing nuggets on the site, and then take the site down, only re-instating it when you have more to sell.

This should keep you within the bracket of 'Hobbyist' for tax purposes, just like an ebay sale. But im no taxation expert.

Im sure there is a way around it and maybe using your own name in page title would also help?

I used to play around with HTML coding years ago also and ended up becoming quite handy with it......have forgotten a lot of it now though!

Was a bit of a geek in my younger years (windows 95 days) although i never had any formal qualifications :p

Cheers lads ;)
