I got out early today for a poke around and i thought i was in for a great day when my first target turned out to be a 1938 sixpence. Well then i dug targets for the next 2 hours for nothing but trash so went to another spot and managed a 1948 penny and a 1979 kiwi 20c before it got too hot and headed home at lunchtime. The sixpence came from the same spot as my florin and threepence so i will be spending a bit more time there yet i reckon :p

Thats the plan silver but there is heaps of trash there and i still haven't got my pinpointer yet haha. I might ask santa lol

Went back to my silver spot today but the river level is up so was limited to were i could detect but managed a couple spendable coins and heaps of rubbish. Found a watch that looked like it had been swimming for a while. Water resistant to 100m but has a cracked glass. Internals look ok so i reckon it will work again. If anyone knows the owner i will gladly return it. Im sure it has sentimental value to someone :p

Really need to get a headtorch but im loving my garrett carrot pinpointer :p :p

Thanks b5mech. Yeah i was using the light on my pinpointer haha. Im gunna steal one of my sons headlights. He's a mad keen fisherman and has a couple ledlenser headlamps so he wont miss one hahaha

Hi Tribsa,
The Led Lenser head torches are a top unit, I have the H7 and H14 along with the H7R2 and H14R2, the original H14 is my go-to head torch for detecting at night, the H14R2 does cause interfearance problems with the ML GPX 45/5000 detectors, you can't tune the interfearance out like you can with the H14, not sure if you are into chasing the yellow metal with detectors. The CTX3030 does not have any issues with the H14 either, great on the beach, light the place up like daylight on full power.
Cheers, SinHof.
