and for those of us that voted in the Victorian state election last November our right stems from that singular act of civil disobedience that Mark Twain wrote of following his visit to the Victorian Goldfields in 1895, of the Eureka Stockade he said:

... It was a revolution small in size; but great politically; it was a strike for liberty, a struggle for principle, a stand against injustice and oppression... It is another instance of a victory won by a lost battle...

Although never perfect or free from corruption themselves, people forget all that was won by unions/unity. Those who came before us, and the battles they fought for the things we take for granted today. Some of those things which are currently 'being looked at', which really means, about to be axed.

As more and more people forget, or are unaware of our nation's history, the more we seem to be losing the natural mateship/kinship, that has always been at the heart of this nation's identity...

Ahhh what do I know... :|
