GE could be the maker?
No idea what it could be, too small for snuff, talc, perfume?

Its very small. Ill get the verniers on to it in the morn. Made of brass.

It may be you only have half of the object? Where as one piece slides into another. If that was the case the object may well be part of a wax match holder. Just a thought cheers
