Yes frank I see a lot of americanisms creeping into this site and our daily lives. No doubt due in large part to a steady diet of prospecting shows available on U tube.
I would like to see our colonial heritage preserved & cornish & welsh mining terms used as these early miners contrubuted far more to mining in metalifourous & coal mining (spelling ) Ie stope, winze, adit, costean,

I suspect that Americans feel exactly the same about their own mining heritage and so want to preserve the old alluvial mining usage of "washing" in their vernacular. :)
