They should be made to repay the $50000, not just the $1400 they got fined.

Can't blame them for drinking rum but they should of picked up their litter

I agree mate the fines are miniscule compared to the cost of damage and not to mention the cost of the chopper and water rescue. Should have been at least $15,000 each and maybe the word would get out that we are fed up dealing with idiots. Mackka

One of the reasons i strayed away from regular 4wd'ing was people like this. Turning amazing day trips into just plain crap, tearing up trails and leaving litter at all the nice stop offs.

Also one of the reasons now so many great bush trails are locked up.

It has never ceased to amaze me how much effort some people can put into carrying trash into the bush but are totally incapable of carrying it out again.

If I get a chance I might make up a collection of snaps of what i come across this coming season. (I'll leave the physical confrontations out of it) You will be amazed even more I can assure you Then if I also record some of the conversations that take place you will understand why gates get locked.
