Happy wife happy life.

Geez that quote is used a lot, and I reckon it is a load of sh!t
If you have keep the wife happy at your expense you have a bloody miserable existance.
Cards on the table I say.

That'll true for some but my existance is fine :D .......we give and take, and sometimes i sneek a little more - and i'm sure she does as well.

I've never been constrained....

spot on yobskin, we are all equal and all entitled to choose what sort of life we want.
My missus is a councillor and her opinion is if people are under the thumb and need to ask the wife for permission then they choose to do so, a good relationship is based on love, trust and accepting that our partner is an individual who can make decisions for themselves, you don't always have to agree with your partners decision on what they choose to do but you should at least respect it.
That's why she is going to be mrs ProspectorPete is 3 weeks :)

Bravo!!
human relationships are the most difficult path that we will have to negotiate in our short life ....

Leverage. Another word for compromise. I'd detect every day other than the honeymoon. Put in a couple days of good will and be sure to make a point of it. If you comply make sure it's only once.

Causes a row in my house every other day mate because I stupidly gave them up when I met her. If you give an inch be sure to take the mile back immediately after. I take holidays by myself now if I want to camp or chase gold. Ah the serenity.
