Best wishes to all PA members in south-east Queensland/north-east New South Wales, who are in for a pretty rough next 48+ hours.

Please take maximum care of yourselves, your loved ones, your friends and your neighbours. Stay away from beaches, rivers and floodwaters, and watch out for falling/fallen trees and powerlines. This isn't going to be pretty and the damage bill could be high, but let's hope there are no tragedies during the storm and its aftermath.

A big thank you from Brisbane.
Hopefully Alfred won't cause too much damage to things, let alone hurt any person!

I have already wrapped the Algoforce and 6k up in plastic and put them in a cupboard in shed

Dont wanna chance their waterproofing level claims...:)

I have moved all moveables to safe areas including the bonsais which are in the shed . Cleaned outthe. Gutters and got the sandbags and wet weather gear ready. My only concern isthe council trees next to-my property, they are over 20 mtrs tall and hopefully with large tap roots. Thecreek next to us flooded in 22 but it was 2mtrs below our fenceline. Fingers and everything else crossed. Stay safe and remember, we are Queenslanders. Queenslander. Queenslander.

Hi to all the members of PA that are a bit apprehensive and maybe in the path of cycle Alfred
Above all please stay safe.
I’ve been through 2 cat 5’s and 1 cat 4
My big lesson from Yassi in 2011 is if the eye does pass over you it is peaceful and like it’s all over, even the stars are out
But the wind does return at full speed no build up from the opposite direction and all the rubbish that has past you does back.
That’s the time to stay bunkered down till the end
Hope this helps
My thoughts are with you
Andy

1974 Cyclone Zoe travel guide.
Interesting comparison.
New news on Alfred just recorded a wave height at Tweed Heads of 15 meters.
