Found these black glass buttons today popular in the early 1900

Dig a bit deeper for the old bag full of sovs, recon theres a chance it could be there, .... will be a different looking soil square somewhere from old disturbed soil that keeps going down and is still easier digging than the normal soil, even after a long time they are still softer to dig than the surrounding soil is. In fact, you may have noticed it already as you were working your way through the area cleasby.
