Classic Spam email

I check my spam folder from time to time to unblock non-spam, check how many Nigerian princesses have fallen in love with me, check how much $$ I have inherited from long lost Aunty M'bootoo M'bootoo etc etc. Got this one over night -check the spelling and the products. (Where I drink, female viagra is called 'wine cooler'.)

Can't stand spam. I get about 30 emails a day from Indians wanting to do search engine optimization on my websites. Even worse are the telephone calls from people saying I have a virus on my computer and they want to fix it.

The worse part if people actually fall for these types of scams even with the poor spelling and Scottish accent lol.

Thanks loamer, I'm really looking forward to getting back into detecting and I think I've made the right choice for my needs and budget.

I don't open any spam email, the last one I opened put a "you're computer has been locked because you are opening kiddy porn" sceeen up when I booted the laptop. It looked official supposedly from the Federal Police.

Fortunately I had a backup point and had to go into the BIOS to reset the operating system. It took a while to figure out and my wife's laptop to do the search for the fix.

You never know what else is lurking in the email......

Hard drives can be remotely accessed, webcams can be remotely switched on etc.

I love opening spam emails and files, love looking at the techniques these scammers use to trick people. I never click the links to go to the scam sites though...

I like to click and go to there web site/shop get there email address .I wrote a script to forward the spam to them every 1 min 1000 times Normally after about 500 or so my address gets blocked :lol:

Thing is, some spam will activate malware, Trojans etc just by opening them, do you really want to find out ? I don't

The spam filter puts them out of the way and I occasionally delete the lot.

Down load "AVG Virus rescue boot disk".
Install it to a usb stick.

Removes it real easy.
Prompts are easy to follow.

It is what I use to remove that one from customers machine. It also removes more than the odd pesky virus or trojan.

I'm using Trend PC cillin it's the same anti virus Defence use had no prob since using.

And from a male perspective there's no guarantee the sender is a female, or hot.

It could be a 120kg Russian Tractor Driver in her mid 50s :lol: or her husband.....
