I realise this is a little self indulgent, selfish and probably not in the true spirit of Christmas, but i tend to buy myself a Christmas present each year to avoid not getting exactly what i want because of fit, price or complexity of selecting the correct product.
So i snuck off the other day and bought myself a new 3/2 steamer wetsuit by Patagonia and i'm pumped. It's going to take a pre-christmas surf this weekend i think :)
Merry Christmas Scrounger

Apart from all the 'good will to all men' stuff, what are you hoping Santa (not our Sandta unless he's family) might bring you?

So what's on your 'personal' shopping list mate? What are you hoping YOU might buy YOURSELF?

Might get myself a new Stihl chainsaw.

The drag on the 25 year old Abu Garcia 6500C overhead has finally given up the ghost so it's off to BCF sometime this week :)

I used to run a 7000 level wind,a 10000 and a 'millionaire' in the 'old days' mate. They were great reels. What new reel are you thinking you might gift yourself? :)

Still running a shimano charter special for snapper so may even go to an egg beater , the Okuma Salina looks the goods as an all rounder for whiting , bream etc . Those Swedish made Abu's were the ducks guts but the Japs seem to have the best gear now IMO .

Cheers

Yeah, the quality of workmanship and the drags on the egg beaters are hard to beat they are so good these days. The Japs know how to produce a quality reel that few others can match in price or quality except perhaps when it comes to saltwater fly reels.

The yanks and the Swed's do all right, best egg beater I ever owned was a Quantum, best overhead, Abu 7000, Penn do Ok as well.

All I want for Christmas is World Peace and an end to Hunger around the world, don't want much :D

Come on Filthy, there's no place for world peace etc here.
This thread is purely for hedonistic pleasures with the emphasis on personal toys we buy for ourselves:lol:
Now come on, get into the spirit of it, there must be some little detecting item or other you'd like to spoil yourself with? ;)

I'll be very annoyed if I get socks! My family always has a very comprehensive list of things I'd like to own. :D
Socks are not on mate, jocks maybe, have you seen how much jocks cost these days, ***** some are $25 bucks a pair!!!
So what's something you'd be inclined to buy for yourself as an indulgence if you had too Ramjet?

yeah, i dunno what happened to my Abus. I used to use my 7000 for spinning off the rocks for tuna etc off Greencape.
Are you getting or wishing for a camper GaryO? If you're getting one then i wouldn't imagine there'd be much left over in the kitty for any other little surprises to indulge yourself

Oh I buy mostly what I want. Nothing jumping out at me at the moment. A detector upgrade at some point. If we are talking $$$ a motor home or big caravan.
