Carat digital scale

I was wondering is there any good carat digital scales that I could buy online in Australia or would I have to buy one from Overseas.

Hi TheFossickingKid,

Have a look at the small digital Satrue scales. They are fairly reliable and pretty widely used, particularly for small gold. Other than that, there should be a ton of scales for cheap prices around online.

Weighing in carats shouldn't be a worry as the conversion from carats to grams and vice-verse is pretty easy: 5 carats = 1 gram.

Most of the ones you see around work just the same as the import ones yet charge 5X as much. For $10 - $20 you should be able to get a great set of scales.

Just watch the scale and max measurement ie 500gm in 2 decimal apposed to say 100gm in 1 decimal place. Depending on how accurate you need to be.

As a rough calibration 2 x 20c and 1 x 10c piece = 1oz (not Troy ounce)

i have this....works pretty dam good for me

depends how much u want to weight tho....i also have a .01 scale for the bigger stones etc

They have carat, grams, oz, troy oz , dwt and grain options.

I'm hanging off buying a set of scales as I figure you have to have something to weigh first. And my track record is so bad I may not need a set for .....oh I don't know maybe another decade. But glad you scored DG

the scales i put the link up for have modes to change to all the different weights u would need ie carat, grams, oz, dwt etc
