just had confirmation email; as always not quite what I thought but close enough. 28,900 plus gst makes 32k close enough with all I said above. warranty is on motor other bits have 2yr 40,000 cover. it'll do me fine. kman I think the hp is related to non turbo units and yes in my talking to others, one had said he had a fuel pump fail, this deal is for electric fuel pump so don't know if that's different or not. still that's all the issues I've heard so here goes.
 
My mate & I took his 3lt 2001 patrol over to Brunswick from VIC in feb 2015 for the conversion. MAte is a deisel & plant mechanic & no dill when it comes to pricing jobs & speccing up trucks big & small.
Thing s yuo need to check with brunswick are whether the motor you are getting is has to have the sump cut and if so what will the oil capacity be compared to the orginal spec.
Is the motor you are getting a new crate motor or a remanufactured one.
Is it the P 400 model that has been derated and will therefore be understressed.
Will you be able to get it easily engineered in your state. This also depends a lot on the mods that you have already done before the engine swap. Ie long range tank
Are you getting an upgraded cooling package.
My mate is very fussy but he is also very happy with the improvment in power & no loss of fuel economy. Having said that you need to get absolutely everything down in black & white regarding the price of accessories etc.
 
thanks Jethro the quote came through very specific down to new radiator and shroud aircon re-pipe alternator etc. but interesting point about the sump. I will check. hey jon that will be me soon.
 
Hey Mark, A bloke at work today was telling me there are a mob in Taralgon Vic that have started fitting Chev V8 diesels to 4wds might be worth checking out, as its a bloody long haul back over the west if something needs to be rectified. Apparently this crew get it engineered and everything.
