Travelling East on Yankee road, but about one kilometre short of Old Blackwood Road 4 ways, there is an access via a track leading southwards which has 2 old (tall and thin) pressure vessels (?), painted white "guarding the entrance" standing either side. Meaning; there appears to be provision to lock out track access with a central bar across the track between the white "steel posts". I went along it about one kilometre, as access was 'unrestricted' but couldn't get a view of anything as the vegetation was tall and thick and I drove out again . Anyone know what or where this access goes too and if there is restriction please? Any history would be welcome. Thnx.

I've ventured down there and pinned stripped my hilux pretty nicely. There are a couple of really deep shafts with tailings piles abit further down that track. The main shaft has been covered by a huge metal grid. I had a detect around the tailings but no luck. Vegetation is a bit too thick. Very easy to get lost in that country.

Yes, thank you Chuky Boy, I agree, couldn't see anything apart from the track ahead and didn't know where it would lead or if I was in trespass at the least or if I couldn't get out again. The 'gateway' looked ominous as if in private or corporate. Thnx, Steven. Appreciate it.
