Interesting clips. Thanks for posting them Greenhornet. Hopefully they can continue to hold the spread of the mite and eradicate the little blighters. Fingers are crossed at the moment.
Hi Folks
Just had my first swarm for the season. Developed a new method for catching the bees. When I shook the branch containing the swarm, the queen must have landed on me. Quite a few of the girls decided that I was a good resting place. Kept them on me for about 15 minutes before having a shake in front of their new home.

if most of the bees are in the box, they will signal the queen and the rest to come to unite. sometimes they go right in, sometimes they fly out again. best way is to find the queen, put her in a cage and into the hive. then pheromone will do the rest and everyone will join the hive. How did you get the queen to go to her new home?
If they stick around The Queen must be there somewhere, I wouldn't touch then for a while. Good LuckI tried to catch a swarm the other day but failed to get the Queen into the hive. They are camping in the side now but refusing to go in. Might have anouther go tonight. View attachment 11295
