Our 11 year old Autistic grandson moving in , (permanently we hope). He needs a lot of love and structure in his life at the moment. It's going to be hard for him, new school tomorrow, no mates here, but we're hopefull we can carry it off :)
Becoming a father at 73 is going to be fun :D :D
Well done. 73 is only a number and i am sure you will create lasting memories and make a positive change to a young mans life. It is these acts of not only kindness but love that makes me smile.

good on you

1st day back at school today :argh: he was a bit worried at the start but seemed to have pretty switched on teachers, so he has a safe spot to go to :perfect: when he needs it. He came home telling us he had 2 new friends :) shyte it takes me 3 years to make new friends which is a worry, who's gonna fall off the perch 1st.
Also told him that he could have his friends here or he could go to their places provided we all new what was going on and had their names/addresses/phone numbers (devious old sod, there are some yummy mummies there ]:D )

So tonight he's passed out @ 9pm

See what tomorrow brings. Alls well so far :playful:

Xcvator, I was not speaking in jest or lightly
was all said & meant in good faith with an honest heart mate
I know a couple of people in a similar situation to you, including my sisters Ex.
I sincerely wish you & your grandson well

I have great memories of playing back yard cricket with my grandfather, he was in his late 70's early 80,s at the time. He bowled legspin, auto WC and slips, (fence) and any shot into the ox heart tomato's was out !

I often spent a lot of time with him , he lived about 400 m away and my dad was a.sales rep, home 1 week a month and weekends.

All 3 of us would airside by side fishing for blackfish (luderick) every other weekend....happy days.

Good onya excavator, 73 is the new 60!
