I had to have a cancerous tumour removed from my right kidney four years ago. About 1/3 of it was ressected by robotic surgery and left me with only 4 small insertion scars, the biggest from the hole where they removed the offending part.
There you are on the table with a camera in one hole, two robotic arms and some sort of other plumbing going in, and the surgeon is sitting at a console twenty feet away looking like he is on a gaming machine.
Im not kidding, when they wheeled me into the operating theatre I thought I was on the Starship Enterprise, it was that high tech.
Anyway, Ill be ever grateful for a successful, minimally invasive procedure that has kept me in the clear so far.
It wasnt cheap but it was the best dough I ever spent.
Google Da Vinci robot, and if you ever need your insides worked on, its the only way to go.
