Hi all. Thanks for the tips, it was great to be able to get to the diggings without wasting the few hours I had.
I didn't find any gold, but 2 x 1 cent pieces, a bullet casing and 2 buttons.
I have only rinsed the buttons for now. I'll clean them tonight when I'm back in Brisbane.
