A train driver has been killed, when 2 frieght trains crashed in western australia near the jumpakine station in the wylunga national park

Yep Today back 1977 we lost a few members of our family and 2 were injured when a Drunken Lady School Teacher Took them out On a Bridge driving on the wrong side of the road,

My thoughts go out to the Train drivers family,

Appears as though the train ran into the back off another train that was stationary in a passing loop?
Perhaps a signalling fault, most likely they were not able to stop in time to prevent the crash.
Normally the signalling system would not allow a train to enter a section of track until it is clear of other trains, there is a whole stack of engineering interlocks
that prevent this, though something must have failed.

Very sad for the Driver and his family and work mates.
