Back into it. A little bit of color from the weekend.

Always amazing to see the different results you get by digging in different locations.

Still so many locations yet to be explored by modern day prospectors that the old-timers worked.

That's some epic gold there elbowgrease. I thought I was doing well with 0.7g for a session but this just blows me out of the water. We shall double our efforts...

Honestly this isn't typical of the amounts of gold I would normally see! It took me the best part of 6 months before I even had my first gram total so I consider myself very very very lucky when I can manage a weekend or two every once in a while as good as this. I like to think of myself as an optimist but also as a realist, so I never go home disappointed when there is only half a gram or less at the end of the day, if I can do better than that its just a bonus, any gold is great gold in my book!

Beautiful looking stuff - great pics, I can just never get over how awesome gold looks, even the tiny stuff look like huge nuggets when close enough!

Yep, I agree! That's why I always bust out the digital SLR for some high res close-ups. Its really fascinating how every little picker has its own unique character and so much detail when you can get so close up.

The fines go into the 4oz vial, but all those little pickers get pride of place in the display case so their beauty can be appreciated over and over!
