My company was small but was reasonably successful, it was only started so that I could raise enough money to realize my dream.

In the modern Army, a Furphy is a rumour, not a lie. Well, I suppose it could be a lie, a rumour designed to be mischievous.

e.g. "I have heard its only a 6 day exercise, no $ in the budget" after being told its a 6 week exercise....men would phone their wives and tell them they will be home for the weekend...."the chick from the tuck truck is the RSM,s wife" after hearing the new bloke refer to the tuck truck lady as the "pie ****".

How about Alexander Augustus Norman Dudley "Jerry" Pentland. 5 Aug 1894 - 3 Nov 1983. Into business in 1927 which included flying around gold fields in PNG.
