Who am I

I roamed northern Victoria in the late 1800's , a renowned hard man and bare knuckle fighter who cleared the bar with a trademark catchphrase .

Name and catchphrase please

"Men first, dogs come last" Asaiah "Wild" Wright. He is the guy that had a bare knuckle fight with Ned Kelly.

Good try Rob , not correct , but Ned did beat the tripe out of him in a twenty round bare knuckle toe to toe in 1871

Which gives Magilla the Baton well done

From " Ned Kelly " by Peter Fitzsimons

Isaiah " Wild " Wright " a great bony man with a breat bony face and the fiercest pair of eyes you would ever see " "his joy was to find a crowded hotel and barge his way towards the bar shoving the drinkers every which way while growling Men first , dogs come last "

I have that book and remember the cry well. Don't think much of Fitzy but the book is the best I have read on the Ned Kelly story.

A nice easy one, what was the first name given to the mainland of this great country we live in?

Bit early for a clue but I will say I was surprised to learn about this when I was in Amsterdam about 18 months ago.
