I love the show. I think it's great because I like to pick the BS and the genuine finds. Plus there is not much better on

Sorry Flyrodder, I will continue to comment especially when it directly affects our station. Please feel free not to read my comments.

To be honest, the only enjoyable thing about the show is when they had the blokes in wa with the dry blower, leech pond setup, the current dry blower blokes and watching mick and nev demolish German gully.

The mum, dad, brother and he-she weekend prospectors are pretty sad. The staging is blatantly obvious.... I still watch it tho :)

They lost me in one of the first episodes, when the guy lost the ignition key to his loader while they were detecting the small area they had just scraped. Why would you take the key out of the ignition in the middle of nowhere? Afraid some one lurking behind the nearest bush might steal it to do a ram raid on the A.T.M. just up the road!! wiley,

o much negativity. I love any show related to the hobby. Why watch n *****? Change channels or do better and post it!

I dont miss an episode RR but have to say watching the technique of this latest lot I wouldnt mind detecting a lease after they had supposedly done it over. Lot of difference between the seasoned campaigners of the early series and the Johnny come latelies that want their 15 minutes on telly.

I'm enjoying the latest season, I just take the show for what it is, a bit of gold pron never goes astray. :D

Two mod posts in a row, you guys on a promo campaign ? Btw mate as far as I know its still ok for a mod to say **** ;)

Seriously though have always tough it is a shame that when good posters become mods their posting drops by 90 percent and the forum is worse for it . Is Sydenee still alive ? :playful:

Is there such a thing as a real reality show? More chance that Flabbits actually exist.

I just haven't had much to say recently. Quite a few life challenges going on, then lockdown, now winter hibernation.....

No promo campaign, just a love of shiny things.

Was reading an old book and found mention of the Magnum Bonum nugget (420 oz) found 4 foot from the surface at Irvines reef. I'm thinking this is a spot i might go and check out the surrounding areas. Unfortunately private property and looks like it might be the spot the chaps from Aussie Gold Hunters are digging up.

That reef disappears under the Loddon River.
The old timers lost it both by depth and water.
And yes, The land to the right of that picture is private property.
The tree line on the left is State Forrest that goes right through to Tarnagulla.

There will be many such spots where modern pumps could expose viable workings.

I will supply the hard bit (the pump)

If you deal with that easy ML , Indigenous Heritage application , Environmental Overlay and the $ 5000 donation to the ALP .

Does that sound like a fair deal ?

Ok.
There is a moratorium on any type of mining on the opposite
side of the river as there is a huge aquafier that runs almost through to Bendigo.

The water is pure drinking water and when the Lodden went dry a few years ago,
The Cocky's were pumping like crazy out of it and did not even take the top of it.

Now, Greater Bendigo is now installing a few bores that in case of dry times again,
There will be ample drinking water.

A mining company wanted to exploit the reserves under the basalt capping by fracking with chemicals,
They did not get far.

There is 90 feet of soil,
15 feet of basalt,
Under that,
Would blow your socks off. :argh:
Better to protect the water supply in this case....

The Marny's(spellcheck) Ted and Lecky have also left the series?... We have a show up here called Aussie Salvage Squad ... They are based in WA..

On the last show, a Job they had was recovering a Dryblower that had a broken axle from the Goldfields....
It was Ted and Lecky's and they hired it out to a fellow who then abandoned it and they had to recover it and move it to a main road... They showed some really nice lumps of gold that they said was found last season.... When they were asked if 'they do any good' , his comment was Oh Yeh we do...

The budget for the Recovery was $20,000... So they have done very well with the Gold since leaving the show... Plus they have a brand new 200 series as well... :pickshovel:

LW....
