Argh!!! Not another pinpointer

So my offsider some how stuffed my first pinpointer I had given him till he could afford to get his own. It will vibrate but no sound. With Christmas approaching I thought I would get him a Pressy. Got him a brand new Land and Sea. Nice pinpointer. Gunna get one myself one day. 6 weeks later, He tells me it's not working right. Turns on. then turns of again. He gives it to me. First thing I see is the top sitting crooked and not sealed. Unscrew, screw it back on straight. Now it seals. Open it up, wipe my finger around the inside.................................SALT WATER. Numbnut drowned a great pinpointer. I am not impressed

I did pull it apart, Iso alcohol bath and a week in rice. It turns on, light is on but nothing else happens. Found a burnt out leg on an IC(?) but I cant fix it.

Did I mention how unimpressed I was with him?

The question is ............. Are you going to get a new pinpointer or a new offsider ?

Sorta stuck with him now

But I will be buying a Land and Sea for myself soon. It was a good pointer. Just not Idiot proof

Yer I know What you guys are saying. I really should know better. Bought myself a newish car last year. Last 2 weeks before "some one" put a dent in it. A total of 3 dents so far and petrol in the tank of a diesel. Went 200km before I found out about that one, thought some thing was wrong when we left the servo

You had a petrol car and went to a diesel and forgot it was a diesel ? Force of habit pumping petrol. It happens ,mate. You`ll laugh about it one day.

I know a bloke who filled a diesel servo station tank with petrol. I couldn't work out why the school bus I used to drive and service wouldn't pull the skin off of a custard. Wasn't me.

Not alleging anything. He wont let me near a bowser When he is in the passenger seat. So yah, He done it. It hiccuped a few times during the trip. Come the morning though, had trouble getting it going and when it finally started, coughed and farted and carried on real rough. That's when I asked " Please tell me put deisel in this last night?" Um um um um then :8 :8 :argh: :awful:
