Hey just wondeeing if there are any creeks or fields round geelong to go as im only 16 and cant travel to far because i dont have a carthank you

Unfortunately the closest to Geelong would probably be Elaine or Rokewood. Do you have a detector or are you going to pan?

Steiglitz? Parks Vic site say panning is allowed (in certain areas) but no detecting.

Mate hook up your local prospecting /fosicking club, not sure who's in your area. It's the best option for you to gain information & experience. from my experience you'll meet people willing to help with transport on field days. Most clubs try for 1 field day each month, you could also try to meet members outside of these dates for extra tuition /outings. There's plenty of positive outcomes with this approach, meeting like minded people & sharing time learning from their experiences. You've got nothing to lose and heaps of experience to be gained, if you don't give it a go you'll never know. Better to live knowing you gave it a chance than not knowing what could have been. All the best, you are the next generation of prospector who could do with knowledge to keep the tradition alive & pass it on to the next. Please at a minimum contact your local club and give them a chance to help you with, technique, legal obligations so you can enjoy this hobbie and pass it on.
