Found this last night, it is intact and looks like some sort of old barrel or sump seal.
The type you hammer into place, perhaps????

Has anyone seen something like this before?

Went out tonight for a swing at my military site, found another rising sun badge

And another mystery item for you guys to work on. It is shaped like a bullet but has a screw thread in the bottom and the barrel part has been machined with a finger-grip pattern. Not sure what is going on at the nose, attached steel or impact damage????

I thought it might have been part of a gun barrel cleaning kit but when measured up against a 303 cartridge it is bigger.

Happy to give you the 1c I found for your thoughts.....a penny would be more appropriate but I haven't found the wet mess location yet. :D

Part of a dart(rusted away point) ?
Don't worry about the cent,.....dibs on a share in that 1930 penny(rumplstiltskin)(haha) your going to find.

Looks like just a worn centre punch to me, might have been previously mounted on something with the thread?

Is it brass or steel?
