I finally got my new coil today ( for my sovereign)

Have been anxiously awaiting its arrival for a couple of weeks...
The unfortunate part being 2 fold ... It didnt come with a securing bolt, which in itself, isnt too bad ... However , the holes in the coil mount are 5/16(8mm) the standard size for the sovereign( well this one anyway) is 1/4"

It certainly isnt the end of the world(as they say) but a bummer none the less
Im sure i will figure it out in the end...
Just a little longer till i can get out there :(

Just sent you a pm..

Spoke to Peter and he tells me there all 8mm.

I just had a look at my Minelab Mono and that's got 8mm holes as well. So maybe this has changed
from the 90's. Not sure.

You have 2 options.

The first is buy another bottom stem for it and drill out the hole at 8mm and get yourself an 8mm plastic bolt.

The other is to use 2 rubber washers on the outside of each side of your stem if your stem does not have these
and as you fasten the coil the rubber will hold it in place.

By the way how heavy is the coil?

P.S - Get ready to dig some deep holes..

Hope this helps.

Gday Wolf , yes thanks for your help . I sent you a pm also ,
I think i will try to get another lower stem for the other coils

On wet sand i prefer a light aluminum shovel i purchased
From the large hardware store. Very Light to carry around
and is easy to dig wet sand. Tried dragging a scoop on wet
sand and It was awkward.

Detech make good coils and this one should do the trick.

I am looking forward in seeing the results With the
sovereign and the large dd.
