Hello All,
I have just started on a drop in riffle mod for the Walbanker I have.
apart from the nearly finnished aspect,
how do you all think it will go.
A full lenght bread crate section finnish's of the sluice after these. In other words, it replaces the expanded section before the bread crate area.

Personally, though I hate to say it, I think you're going backwards with that one dj, :/ and would stick with some sloped expanded....But experimenting is always a good thing.

hey tathradj,

Is your bread crate going in after these riffles??

It may be the picture but are the riffles sloping the wrong way?

Sorry if I'm mistaken but it looks as though they are doing up the slope, that is if your bread crate is going in after the riffles

Cheers

THX Wal, :)
That is why I stopped and started to wonder. Idea was that material would build up in front of the riffles and flow over the top creating a vortex under the open end. :D
You are looking up the box to the hopper end. The flow is running towards you.
All i was going to put under it is a flat thin plate of alluninium to square it off leaving underneath a small opening under the riffle.
Hoping to create a reverse flow back into the open end when running sand and stuff. :)
The bread crate starts after them and continues to the end of the sluice.
I just scored a good sized hunk of expanded alloy mesh that can be dropped in it's place. So makeing them interchangable.
Me just wants to experiment with out destroying the actual box section. 8)
The botom of the sluice section buckled when I did some soldering on it. LOL

Great to hear how you go with it dj. Bring the unit along to our November outing and set it up next to my banker and we can compare results. I'll have my gold mesh and interchangeable sapphire mesh with me. Best of luck with it mate.

Cheers Wal.
