Hi all...!
Just a quick line to say that I've been following the forum for some time as a guest, but now that I have purchased an X-Terra 705 and have rambled around the golden triangle on my own for a few weekends now, I feel it is only fair to say a big hello....and help! Apart from finding a good number of old tent pegs from the early days, I hope to learn from the experienced and make a few friends along the way. I'm keen on meeting other fellow 705 users around the Castlemaine area on a weekend who can point me in the right direction with the ground balance and false readings etc.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum Philsky, reading as a guest can be quite rewarding. Being actively involved with the members, and sharing info, will be immensely more beneficial as you can now ask advice which effects you personally. There's a lot of experienced detector operators on here and i'm sure quite a few 705 users can pass on some good advice.

Look forward to when you post that pic of your first big nugget....Best of luck out there in the paddock,

Cheers Wal.

Thanks Wal.
Funny thing is, I'm not sure if its beginners luck or I'm completely off track, but within an hour of hovering around a muck heap on my very first use, I had a funny reading over a 1m radius patch. After picking away through a kind of slurry crust which was about an inch thick just under the soft soil, I noticed that the side view of all the broken pieces of crust had a golden speckle to them. I am assuming that its copper perhaps? I have a bucket of the stuff. Any ideas? (Sorry, been trying to upload some clear pics but not having any luck)
