Hey all I'm from SE burbs of Vic but often prospect, mostly alluvial, on the weekends and days off work. Have been doing so on and off for about 7 years. Started collecting gems and rocks as a kid so always had an interest. Got given a 'specimen' rock of quartz with flakes of gold by a great uncle aged 9. When through a detector phase of hiring and owning a few different, but never found gold with it. I've got a powered highbanker eldorado, river sluice, and mostly just crevice and pan now, time spent loaming for the next big thing on creeks, gullies and banks. Currently found a nice spot not too far away I've just started to loam, and am getting a few medium sized flakes from crevices. Still in the class of 'new chum' and learning every day, I don't think I'll ever kick the habit. Cheers, Gabe
