Oh, I've had a similar situation and a lot of disappointment. I got a coin from 1860, and I thought it had value, but it was worthless, it was a shame.
I agree with the majority that the bad condition of the coin is its history, but if it is worthless, it is probably worth bringing it to a beautiful view to be able to read and consider all the inscriptions.
