A thank you to the Mods

Been reading a fair few threads and see the mods taking a the time to work through things, little explanations here and there, this new approach seems a lot more considered and goes the end user an indication of what's going on.

I for one want to thank them for the job they're doing especially in light of some of the new approach they are implementing. It's a thankless task but I think the balance is bang on. Cheers gents.

Thanks GT. Much appreciated. There is a lot of discussion between we moderators that you guys don't see. Some think we are just power hungry and imposing our own opinions on the forum but in reality we always try to talk things through and get a consensus on the right action to take.
We try do do what is right for the majority of members but of course any decision we make will be judged by both sides of any argument. We will cop flak from at least one side.

very tricky.
We do discuss major decisions especially if some one is facing a permanent ban and we
don't like it but what has to be done is done.

Thanks mate. I just remembered you called....apologies I hot the call whilst at work (no private phone use in bh) and due to this year especially at the moment being a complete disaster (landfill construction) it slipped my mind. Going to the line manager tomorrow to book about 6 weeks at the back end of January at which time I'll be back up on the south coast again enjoying some r&r and scouting for some new permanent places to live and work. I'll be around if you want to catch up properly at that time. Too in love with the area to keep calling home home for much longer, Mrs GT could do with a change of lifestyle more than me. Beaches and mountains, God's own country which makes me wonder why I keep hanging around here.

You obviously put in many many hours in to keeping the forum socially ethical, in a very fair and unbiased manner.

Totally agree with Dig'n-it.
The moderators have an important job and this forums success and friendly, helpful community spirit is due in some respects because the mods are doing a great job.

I'll way in too ,... our mods are a special breed of their own, yet, mixed inextricably with the norm, so much so, that unless your lookin in particular, you'll see nothing out of the ordinary whatsoever !

Well the indiscretions committed pale against what you have to do get back in. Haha.

I can say in all sincerity that any member or mod would be justified in thinking I should have stayed banned permanently, no questions asked. In spite of this they gave me an undeserved second chance, and still gave some credence to my remarks whilst being escorted from the forum to provide feedback about their decisions as they are occurring. I don't think they changed because I asked them to, whatever they decided as a group or as individuals to change where they make note of changes, add a line to say somethings been removed, or add a post to say a thread will be locked, is straying too far a give a bit of notice they are sanctioning a member I believe makes a tremendous difference to anyone involved.

I don't mind they carry big decisions, and trust in their calls, it was when people didn't understand what was happening that seemed to cause a lot of angst. They do a great job under trying circumstances. Cheers GT.

GT there was a huge amount of discussion before we decided to reverse your ban. I guess the deciding factor was the many, many positive and informative posts you had made. Balance that against one or two posts made in the heat of and argument....
We all get passionate and may overstep the line at times, I am definitely guilty of that.

We have let other members back in a couple of times but unfortunately they continued on their destructive path and we had to ban them again.

I should add that we are only human and sometimes we make the wrong call. We are not perfect but we work as a team to do what we believe is best for the members of this great forum.
