Set the HDD password in bios and it will carry over if you re install it too a new machine.
Only way to wipe it is too do a low level format.
The tools in windows are not capeable of doing this properly.
If you find the hdd drive has one,
Go into bios,
Find security,
Hdd password,
Type the old one in,
Leave the fields blank then enter to remove it.
Reboot the machine to confirm it is gone,
Slow format before installing any thing.

How that is possible i have no idea Darick back then didn`t have the answer either.
