Here is a photo of my 20 nuggets and overall weight so far, not bad since I only brought my GPZ7000 on 14th October 2017. I new nothing about gold before that and still know very little lol ?.
Nice little nugglet to start the season
7000 on High Yield, difficult.
In some wash that looks like it has come off a greenstone and quartz hill.....Will be heading back there again to find this one's mother
Here is a nice specimen I found on Good Friday. I got to the site I had chosen around 3pm, switched on the SDC, found a button, then two bits of lead shot, and this was the 4th target for the day. Needless to say it was a very good Friday!
It was practically on the surface and screamed like a piece of rubbish.
Not sure how much gold is in it yet, maybe around 10 grams? I'm having trouble doing the SG test I think maybe because of the air that gets trapped in the little cavities in the rock? I've tried both methods and have gotten varying from 6 to 20 grams. I got new scales off eBay to do the SG test and then figured out that they are not calibrated correctly, so I've ordered some calibration weights.
I've had it soaking in HCL but not happy with how it turned out so it's going in an Alibrite bath tonight to whiten up the quartz a bit.
Here's its little brother, found maybe a foot away.
Little specimen under the USB microscope, showing the cavities:
I'm not going to bring them to Hill End but I've decided to auction them off at the Lapidary Club auction so you can see them then. I need some funds to fix my car.
