Its actually pretty protected nestled down in them thar hills, I was suprised how good it was yest compared to the rest of the Monaro. Would be another good spot for a PA gathering

Bahahaha think I recognize a few others from the Tuena gathering at Easter. Brought home a small ironstone/conglomerate which I smashed up at five to seven this morning, had to break the ice off the panning tub, all good, nothing in it but left the pan with a bit of water in it on the balcony, had a shower, came back out and the pan had frozen over. Went to work and had heater on all day, beuuuutiful

Sure would be a good place for a PA meetup mate, yeah not quite as cold as further south but I've woken to a few -8 mornings there, brrrr. Worse when windy there, those gullies are like wind tunnels.

As Paydirt said, hook, line & sinker. Don't be fooled by the magnifying powers of the camera though; they are nice rough pickers, but they are incredibly flat.
Though it may be my imagination, but every time I pick up my little pot of gold, it seems to have grown :)

Man a week down at Tuena should do alright, might do that one year.
Well done
Brad...

Got down to Vic for a few days, spent an afternoon at Slatey Creek just panning with my dad and got some decent colour.

Last time in the creek at clunes on the left, this time in Slatey Creek on the right.
Interesting to see that the bits from slatey creek seem to have been flattened out more than the bit from near the vein at clunes.

Got a chance to put my new garret super sluice pans to work today in Gympie.

Very happy with the 4 pan loads, bit of a shame my bunnings sluice is at home as I would love to give it a crack on what I think is productive pay dirt.

Heading to Glen Innes tomorrow so will have to get back to this spot at a later date.

That's a great test run on the pans mate, looks likely there's plenty left for some golden times.
