    hi yes i suppose your right the grass always seems greener else where, but would still like to give it a try one day,.as for good finds over the last twenty yrs. iv,e foundloads of hammered silver coins, roman bronzes, and silver, but never found any gold coins..the trouble over here is their...

    been metal detecting for the last twenty years mainly for artifacts and old coins.but have been watching a few vidieos of detecting, panning, etc in australia it looks good and interesting.
