Why would I want to buy someone elses finds?

I'm not saying that folk on ebay should be regulated I'm just saying that someone selling crap on ebay is dissimilar to a salesman selling a car from a car yard. I agree that people should be allowed to sell whatever they want for how ever much they want, it's no concern of mine but when society...

    anyone know what this is?

Looks a bit like a dress lifter, (I'm not joking) women in Victorian times would use things like these to lift their skirts when crossing muddy streets etc.

Why would I want to buy someone elses finds?

Even used car salesmen are more transparent than this guy and they're regulated.

Why would I want to buy someone elses finds?

I don't see a discussion about rights and wrongs of selling finds so much as the ethics of advertising junk at inflated prices in the hope of fleecing some nuffy. Read the article, the guys focus is entirely on financial gain.

Metal Detector advice $500 to $1500

6 years without trouble sounds like pretty good going and I don't think I'd test my luck by fully submerging the unit although I 'spose it's possible to accidentally drop it in a creek or something. Do you mind if I ask where you bought yours from Ramjet?

Metal Detector advice $500 to $1500

No mate I'm in Gippsland Victoria for another 10 days and we're off to new digs in Nth Central Tassie. I've seen that there's a Garrett dealer in Hobart but I'm not expecting to be down there any time soon. The Garrett Australia web shop might be my best option as I'm pretty settled on an AT PRO...

Metal Detector advice $500 to $1500

I might have to build a mock detector out of a broom handle, some dunny rolls and a paint tin lid to practice my action until I get my hands on the real thing. And make beeping sounds with my voice...

Metal Detector advice $500 to $1500

Both good reasons. I imagine that these things ard pretty solid state, how likely is someone to require warranty assistance? Not that I'd buy from overseas, just wondering. What sort of warranty can one expect? Is one manufacturer particularly regarded for reliability or support? Can anyone...
