I was reading a journal of my great grandfather he found a place where he was getting 3 to 6 penny weight per dish but that was 1887. Does anyone know what 3 penny weight would be in todays terms as recent trip there is still
gold there.
I think bronze , it was between rocks there was an old shoe buckle with it . the sight is dived often as there are a number of shipwrecks in this area.

could have come from the wreck of the cathrine adamson which is only about 100 to 130 metres away from where I found it. I have researched these sight on many occasions, thanks for reminding me as I have not visited them for some time now
I spent around 20000 hours underwater looking for abalone & I only saw 6 shark in that time. They say the one that you don't see is the one that gets you. So keep that in mind Rocketaroo. There are still many wrecks to be found along our shores.
Just found interest in fossicking my other interests are fishing , diving & photography . I am retired now after working as bricklayer & abalone diver.
