    WOW. Find of a lifetime.

Back in 2018 it was reported on another forum that a tin with about 50 gold coins was found near a bridge in Goulburn. At the time the bridge on the Braidwood road was being demolished, so I thought that might be the location. Someone searched TROVE and came up with this from the SMH in...

    M&D Marks Fibreglass Super Sluice

I know a few blokes who were active when MM was selling his gear. It was pretty expensive, even by standards back then, and Martin was a controversial fellow. I believe the fiberglass sluices and pans could be a bit heavy and brittle. There are a few links to be found on Google about him...

    WOW. Find of a lifetime.

Of course, but the dirt and mud from long burial sticks to gold.

    WOW. Find of a lifetime.

Remarkably clean coins for fresh out of the ground. I wonder if they had been cleaned up a bit before the pic was taken?

Tossing up on which detector - Nokta Makro Gold Racer, Nokta Anfibio or Garrett AT Pro A

Just to give you something else to consider, have a look at the Gold Kruzer, Phase Technical has a thread about them on this forum, and like the Monster is has regularly found gold in Australian conditions. I have the Multi Kruzer and rate it highly as a relic detector...

How can I get over fear camping alone?

I've never had an issue camping alone, but it pays to be mindful of the risks that you might face in isolated areas. It's more a matter of potential injuries than foul play. I don't think I'd be backpacking in wild country any more like I used to back in the 1970's, mainly because I am now over...

    Amazing story of ginger Mick.

So picture this. Its 1932 and Australia is in the grip of the Great Depression. One in three workers are unemployed. Decrepit shanty towns hug the outskirts of the big cities. A scrawny rabbit caught in a trap will feed a family for a week. Country roads are filled with broken men walking from...

Gold theft in WA goes wrong

Not the smartest of thieves. "Three men have been charged after allegedly stealing $270,000 of raw gold ore and a two-tonne safe from a mine in Western Australia. One of the men has links to the Gypsy Joker bikies, WA Police said in a statement today. Detectives from the Gold Stealing...

    Today I COOKED.

Went to Harris Farm Markets in Bowral on Sunday. Not much social distancing was happening, and I'd forgotten it was a long weekend. Anyway, I got some potato nocci stuffed with spinach and ricotta, and a couple of spatccocks. So I split the spatccocks, marinated them in wine, lemon juice...

    Knee Replacement / s

OC, a lot of the GP's don't know about the procedure, I had to get the info to give my GP to get a referral. It was done at Liverpool in Sydney. Some urologists don't like the procedure because the TURP operation is their bread and butter.
