    Total Noob, hunting for help!

Morning AA, I suggest joining the Ipswich lapidary club. They used to be a great bunch. Really good info, knowledge of places not only in Qld but other states too. They used to have all the equipment and access to same if you needed to purchase. I moved from the area 25 years ago and didn’t keep...

    Newbie from Doonan Qld

Damn Purcy, that’s a real fine bus you have there. The luxury way to prospect! Respect for not accepting NDIS. I hope your prospecting is 100% successful. On the news today I heard that chillies are meant to be effective in reducing dementia symptoms. New research and all that. Might be worth a...

G'Day All, Keen Newbie here hoping to make some like minded friends...

Davepi., bloody brilliant write-up mate. This is exactly what I had hoped for. You’re a genius and your efforts are really appreciated. Thank you so very much. You have described the experience perfectly. I think I would be ready for the trip out there and know what to expect when I got there...

G'Day All, Keen Newbie here hoping to make some like minded friends...

Hi Davepi, great to have you on board. Wondering if you could post for us on your adventures to Tibooburra as I’d personally love to know a bit more about the area. I’m sure there will be others who’d enjoy learning about the conditions, what you find and the pro’s and cons of the district. Look...

    South Brisbane Newbie

Morning BadDaddy, great to meet you. My very first fossicking trip was to Stanthorpe. Great place to be based for a prospector. I remember meeting an ancient prospector living way out back near the NSW border, miles from anywhere, who used to prospect for tin. He was amazing and had some great...

Show us your Dog / Best mate

This is my guy. He’s a Scottish Deer Hound. His name is O B. Weird name like him. You can never let him off the leash in public………. ever. Probably never see him again, never mind all the “prey” he’d chase down and worry to death. By prey I mean; cats, wheelbarrow tyres, dogs, birds, flys...

Hunting for "REEF" Gold....an approach for beginners.

I agree with you Andrew 1, this has been an epic educational experience especially from user 4386 and WalnLiz. Thanks guys, in one page you’ve taught me a whole heap of stuff about things I’ve walked around/over, picked up and looked at cluelessly then tossed and areas that I certainly should go...

Cleaned up the button. Turns out it’s the lead-head of an old iron roof nail lol.

    Mr Tee's finds

This was all found in the tiny corner of the front yard. The big coin is a 1950 one penny. Next one a 10 cent piece. The smallest is a one cent. The last round thingy I think is a button. Besides the lead weight the rest is junk. Best finds I’ve had in months lol.

    Mr Tee's finds

Here’s my little finds for the morning. Went outside with my cheapo detector to look for a clip I dropped out the window. Couldn’t find it! As I was coming round the front of the house I let the detector have a quick sniff. In about 5 minutes this is what I dug up.

    OzzieAu's Recent local finds

Crikey OzzieAu, I accidentally started at the beginning of this whole thread and have never seen anyone detect so many actual treasures. You’re bloody amazing! I’ve done my time detecting parks, beaches etc and have found nothing as exciting as some of the stuff you’ve shown us here! You’ve...

    Minelab's next gold machine

Yes, you‘ve done a great design and should do something with it. I can see it having a place in the future especially with an aging population who enjoy getting out there. Good job Hawkear. Regards - Mr Tee

    Minelab's next gold machine

Gidday Hawkear, That’s an excellent solution to a problem that you’re facing. I agree with you that the smallest increments in weight increase discomfort by a much larger degree over time when a person’s carrying an injury. This can be tens of minutes to an hour or two. I have carpal tunnel...
