    Is This A Reef?

ahh.....that's the good thing about being an uneducated prospector....I can get away with stuff like that.

    Is This A Reef?

Not trying to promote a tubeface channel...but Lisa and I have been chasing a number of QTZ structures over the last couple of months.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeGRHdhGt0U Ultimately...get out your dolly pot and a dish and see if it's carrying....the vast majority don't.

Course for understanding geology and finding gold bearing areas?

We hit a lot of QTZ structures...like I said...I rarely show gold  ( I thought I would chuck one of those emoji thingys in here). Thanks for your feedback though...I often wonder if it's worth the effort doing them. Plotting patches is one of the most powerful things you can do to find...

ok...here is another tip that may work for you. Next old patch you find leave your detector in the car. Grab your GPS (we use Garmin GPS Map 64) and waypoint every dighole in the patch. Take your time and get everything you can. When you have done this, 'zoom out' on the GPS to a scale where you...

Course for understanding geology and finding gold bearing areas?

JOTH...I guess thats the point.....we do things 'our way' because it works for us. We have been out in the bush more than most and we are not there for the sunsets. However, most people here are out there for the sunsets and so it may come down to the simple equation of 'what makes the trip...

Course for understanding geology and finding gold bearing areas?

I think it's a fair comment to say that virtually all prospectors take a very random approach to their patch hunting. At times, Lisa and I do as well....but usually only on a day off when we go out for a casual swing by ourselves or with friends. Just going out for a wander around the bush is...

    Portable Crusher and processing unit

I'm prob hijacking the thread....apologies if thats the case... this is a vid of our sampling plant at work and a bit of an explanation about what we are trying to achieve. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMjBiX8IGKg In hindsight, there are easier ways to go about it but this is the way we...

    Portable Crusher and processing unit

Thanks Jethro, it's all about the adventure for us....money yes, but mostly trying to live life on our terms. One of the things I love about it is that you never know it all and every bloody day is a challenge.

    Portable Crusher and processing unit

G'day Jethro.....I'm no expert mate...just putting that out there! If you have half an hour of your life to waste have a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4VRIWxNfwI&t=116s It's a PP presentation from a talk I was asked to give at the APLA AGM last year....it covers a number of...

    Portable Crusher and processing unit

Any gravity recovery is only ever going to give you 50-60% recovery. Finding the correct grinding fraction is all fine except most of that size gold will not be recoverable by gravity anyway. It is better to match the crushing/recovery circuit to the ore....but how many prospectors are sitting...

Your competition is China I'm afraid. Not sure what you mean about a shaker rather than ball mill? What is the recovery method?....sluice?

if you can already use tengraph then your half way there! I wouldn/t worry too much about WAMEX reports when your starting out.....I would recommend you use tengraph to work out where gold has prob been and then play the 'what if' game of where could it still be hiding. So....dead tenements on...

Course for understanding geology and finding gold bearing areas?

keep in mind I run training courses....... thing is...most of WA is goldbearing to some degree or other. Putting yourself in the right areas is important but getting to know Tengraph or Geoview WA will take care of that for you. It's a bit like metal detectors...you don't really need to do a...

Newbie Looking For Advice - Minelab CTX 3030 or Equinox

Reeds are good operators. My advice for what it's worth is to hire a detector for a few days and see if you actually like the detecting experience. It may save you time and money if you work out it aint for you.

    Chain mill advice needed please.

I made one with a single cyl diesel....I just control the rpm's with the throttle. What I find is the size of material feed and quantity and most importantly moisture content is what bogs down the crusher. I always run the thing near flat out and it works fine!

    Gold around Yalgoo

I have seen/heard of a number of good finds over the years. Mostly South of Yalgoo down around Golden Grove Mine. I guess it's like anywhere....do your research...spend the time on the ground in the right areas and see if you 'get lucky'!

    GPZ7000 And Salt Lakes

Hi Jaros....'but he started it!"...unless I read it all wrong...Bacchus was attacking me personally and my "credibility"... I reckon I have a right of reply? My opinions are only/just that...opinions....I am ALWAYS happy to be wrong...when I am, I'm the first to admit it....but to attack me...
