HARD ROCK MINING on a tight budget: (1)

Well said Dave. That's the first sensible post I've read in this thread. None of the methods recommended here can be done on a tight budget or without knowing what your doing.

    My Full GPZ 7000 review

Gold maps are only going to take you to where everyone else has thrashed to pick up scraps, start learning geology maps. I've never prospected in SA before but one quick looks tells me that most the gold is associated with the big belt of folded rock east and north of Adelaide. Surface geology...

    GPZ7000 release, questions and information

You guys really should read the specs before starting even more wild speculation. It says 3 year warranty on control box and coil.

    Silver rocks in quarts vein

Pretty sure you've got yourself a nice specimen of molybdenite. Highly metallic luster, slight purple tinge, should be reasonably soft to scratch. Oberon has a few moly deposits around the place. Nice specimen for your collection!

    GPZ7000 release, questions and information

The dealer I spoke to yesterday said that they would be about $10k, he also said they will not be taking any gpx5000s for trade in , as they don't want to get stuck with them. They were going to be providing 3 months interest free finance to allow time for you to sell your 5000 privately and...

    WOW!!! Something worth checking out!!!!!!

Haha, nice try  Don't like your chances of them telling you where they are, I know I wouldn't. Would you like a map with an X on it to go with that? :D

    Nuggety Gully - Tuena

Most of nuggety gully is within the conservation area and not open for prospecting. Once you go through the gate on the other side of the creek near the campground you are on leased ground. You should get permission to be there, the lease holder really doesn't like people going up over the hill...

    Minelab SDC2300 information and questions

The main reason for the battery issue is that not all C size batteries are made exactly the same size. The ones provided with the unit are slightly smaller then others causing them to move around a bit. And the positive terminal is also slightly smaller on them. The heat issue is obviously not a...

    Minelab SDC2300 information and questions

I highly doubt that the heat is the problem, it has been over 45c here for a month and I have not had any issues with mine. The supplied batteries are a bit loose, but a piece of cardboard fixes this as someone else already said.

    21oz's found @ Forsayth NQ.

That's a bloody disgraceful reply from a so called moderator, purposely trying to belittle someone and start an argument. I know Lee and he speaks the truth, sitting at home on your keyboard ain't prospecting mate. Get of your bum and go out some time and you may see that there is still good...

Tuena and Tuena Creek NSW information and questions

Don't worry about going on people's property's, just access the creek at the camp ground and you can walk both up and down stream for several kilometers with out a problem. There is still good gold close to town, so don't worry about going too far out ;)

    Faults ?

No worries goldierocks glad to here your contributions to this post. Sorry can be a bit picky on using the correct terminology having specialized in igneous petrology. It was also my first post so don't think your being picked on by members here :)

    Faults ?

G'day Ian, hope your studies are going well. Just pointing out the difference between descriptive words and rock types ;) Igneous rocks require two features to be distinguished - composition and crystal size. When describing the composition the terms can be easily interchangeable for example a...

    Faults ?

I don't write much on here but was astounded by this statement and had to say something. Your intro says your a geologist, but you have made statements that even a first year student would know are not right. Neither granite or basalt form in dykes. A correct example would be dolerite and...
