Thanks Reeko. i just went down to the river off a sand bank and tried to lift big rocks that were in the water and then scrape around them ( not very deep at all) i only chose the spot i did because it was the only river paddock that didn't have cattle in it. no need to look far for the nail...

I had one of them with me but kept managing to pick up other stuff as well as the flakes, then I freaked out thinking every time I squeezed it was spitting it back out lol - brain wasn't working very well I did bring a bucket full home with me haha

thanks Beagleboy! i think i spent well over 4 hours on you tube last night watching! i was watching a lot of wal and Liz on gems. scary thought is most of the ones they seemed to pick up i think i would have over looked as nothing special, really need to know what to look for!
