Some photos from my recent time in Coober Pedy

I grew up and lived in SA for 24 years, have been to most places, but never Coober Pedy. It's definitely on my "to do list." Awesome photos mate.

    Reedy Creek, Eldorado.

Well that's your backyard isn't Tom, I'm sure you can show a few good spots. :D

Another dig with dylannpennack23 and his bro sluice run

Awesome stuff mate. I love seeing other people's photos/videos and their write ups, hence why I try and do it every now and then.

    Reedy Creek, Eldorado.

Nice one mate, would love to see a pic sometime. Gold is everywhere up there and albeit it's still small quantities compared to some, I seem to bring home more than my previous trips every time I go up there.

If there is, I'm definitely in. Love that part of the world.

    Eldorado Gold Concentrates

So you're allowed to remove said gravel, then remove the gold and sell the gold, but can't leave the gold in the gravel and sell the gravel with the gold in it? So Tom sells bags of gold which may contain traces of gravel. :D

    Who Sleeps In Their Vehicle?

I've camped in the back of the car heaps of times, but have just recently bought a tent cot and awning for the car and have never had a better sleep out in the bush.

    Speed Sign Sluice

Agree. The gaps (in the grizzly bars/screen) look a bit too big to me as well, you may find some bigger rocks dropping into your box and the water having trouble moving them, especially if a few drop down at once. I'd also remove the mat from underneath your expanded mesh as well, it's not needed.

    Whites TDI Pro Oz Wanted

These machines are close to $2700 brand new aren't they, so with the razorback coil (200-300 bucks) getting the detector $1600 is a bit of a bargain I would have thought?

    Whites TDI Pro Oz Wanted

What's wrong with a 2010 TDI mate? Or was it just the age that put you off?

    Mt Disappointment

I've been up there a heap of times as I don't live too far away. The majority of gold found up there back in the day was north of Flowerdale Road, pretty much from west of the park, right across to the east. From my understanding (I could be wrong) there were about 10ish gold mines up in that...

    Reedy creek part III

At this stage I won't be going back up there in the near future, but when I do mate, I can certainly let you know.

    Reedy creek part III

Absolutely mate. If only the misses was ok with me spending a week at a time up there.

    Reedy creek part III

Yeah it was Jaros, love it up there. I just have to talk the misses into letting me go up there for two or three nights next time. ;)

    Reedy creek part III

To be honest mate, it didn't weigh it before I put it in the container with the rest of my Reedy creek gold. The first time I tried to dry some gold off in a pan over a flame, I think there may have been a tiny little bit of oil/fat in the bottom of the pan still and it totally screwed the gold...

    Reedy creek part III

Last weekend I decided to go back up to Reedy creek and give the highbanker another run. So Friday night I loaded the car up and set off real early Saturday morning for what was another 3 hour drive. I arrived just after 7:00am to ice covered ground and a much higher water level compared to...

A sneak peek at a Rotary Powered WalBanker.

Much like my idea of a modified rotating sprinkler. I'll be watching with interest mate, well done.

    Gold concentrates

Received my bag of cons from Diggertom earlier in the week and I must say, for anyone who needs a bit of a fix, I'd recommend buying a bag or two from him. I panned a surprising amount of gold from what is a $20.00 bag. Good stuff Diggertom, I'll definitely be getting some more off you in the...

    Reedy Creek, Eldorado.

Nice one mate. I think it'll be a few weeks at least, before I get back up there again. Will definitely have to venture further upstream next time though.
