What coils would be best for the 4500 in WA. I have some older coils but I understand the more modern coils are much better?
The 14 inch camo coil from coiltek is a great all rounder for small and big nuggets..Smaller coils will quickly run out of depth..What coils would be best for the 4500 in WA. I have some older coils but I understand the more modern coils are much better?
Pic of the 14`` Coiltek Elite Coil Windings that are Flat Wound.I've almost always used the 14" Coiltek Elite. It's an excellent match to the 4500 but is quite heavy. One year I had a sore shoulder so I swung the 11" Commander that comes with the machine and found it a great coil as well. I'm not a fan of NF but that's just me.
the problem is with you.
I hope that last sentence of mine has not been taken too literally as referring to anyone who has posted on this thread. Just my way of saying get a good recommended coil of proven success and get out there and do it.Maybe true but I don't like to hear it....
I'm with you on that one. It's true though.Maybe true but I don't like to hear it....
It`s only true to the believer.I'm with you on that one. It's true though.
I'm doing my best at the research, planning and understanding the 4500 settings and going to a test area weekly. I understand it takes some time (weeks) to tune your hearing to targets. Can't afford a 6000 or 7000 but can a more modern coil to give me the best tools for my budget. Thanks I understand.I hope that last sentence of mine has not been taken too literally as referring to anyone who has posted on this thread. If you're not then finding gold, change some other aspect of your approach not the gear.
Seen too many people place too much importance on the gear rather than things like research, technique, settings, listening skills etc.
Coil manufacturers may not like me saying it but spending your time honing those things is far more productive than the marginal difference between one coil and another of similar size.
Same coil i am running on my 45. Good to know it can go that deep.49g down over 2 feet (full length of pick)

In all fairness she does have the hearing of a bat..Same coil i am running on my 45. Good to know it can go that deep.
I watched a video the other day where it was suggested to leave the settings on the detector in factory mode because using some or all of the filters ( RX gain , Stab ,tuning , motion etc etc ) actually dumbs the machine down and factory settings go deeper and work better. I have not tried this method but will see if it makes a difference when i go out next. Can`t hurt to see what happens with factory settings versus tuning the machine to the various areas i go to. BUT, you are spot on with what you said about technique ,research etc.I hope that last sentence of mine has not been taken too literally as referring to anyone who has posted on this thread. That's a magnificent find mate, both for nugget size and the depth at which she heard it. Not to mention the persistence to keep digging! Congratulations to your better half!49g down over 2 feet (full length of pick)
