Hi thanks for letting me join your forum. Iam in need of assistance, I have a gpx 6000 that when turned on it screams like continuous interference, I have changed the coil from nf to original 14 ml coil, and also restart in factory setting a few times and make no difference. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and had a quick fix., as I am out detecting for the next couple of days. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. I will put a short video up.

Does your 6000 scream on “both” the external speaker and also through the headphones?? Because if it screams only through the external speaker but not the through the headphones then that is a well known factory recall fault with a 6000.

I just had Minelab replace printed control board for similar issue. No charge. I also had my control box and battery fully replaced, and the standard coil. Moral of the story is if it’s not right talk to Minelab. With the price of these detectors they have an obligation to support their customers and to be honest I’ve always had good service from them.

The sooner you get it back to Minelab the sooner you will have it back. Whilst it is disappointing to have faults develop, I have found Minelab are very good at responding with warrantee and service matters.
Also make sure that you have tested all variables. Eg Does the noise persist after swapping in different batteries, coils, settings etc?

Had the same problem recently. Had to send the machine back to Minelab and turned out to be a pcb fault which had to be replaced. Great service and quick turnaround from Minelab.

I thought we'd got through the R&D stage. I was involved in the early testing and it only cost me $8000 but in the end I got a new machine that appears to be very good. Their warranty is very good but if the product they produced was good then we wouldn't all have to call on it 🥵

And so say all of us!

Thanks guys thanks for all the comments. We've just packed it up sent it to mine lab waiting on results I will post when I get them back,
You did not answer my question::

(Because if it screams only through the external speaker but not the through the headphones then that is a well known factory recall fault with a 6000.)
